In light of these fathers and teachers, we will join in the national holiday to commemorate and celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on January 20. The diocesan Ministry of Catholics of African Descent (CAD) will join with all the other local black Christian churches at the National Orange Show, Renaissance Room for a Prayer Breakfast starting at 7:30 am. It is hosted by the Inland Empire Concerned African American Churches (IECAAC), a Christian organization concerned by the causes/issues of African Americans and the marginalized in our society. CAD is a member of IECAAC. You can get a ticket by calling the CAD office at (909)475-5194 or email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with a $20 donation.

On that same day and next door to the Orange Show is LifeStream blood bank where we are organizing the “Blood of the Martyrs” blood drive. Throughout the LifeStream offices within the counties of San Bernardino and Riverside, blood donations will be taken that day in honor of Dr. King who gave so much to this country, including his life. So we are asking all who can give blood to donate the gift of life on that day. In addition to its regular donation centers, LifeStream will set up mobile centers in Hemet, Moreno Valley, Corona and Murrieta. You can also call the office for any questions and specifics.

Finally, we invite you to listen to AM 1570 on Mondays 3:30pm – 3:45pm for our Catholics of African Descent Radio program. Your help and input will be welcomed. Vita tecum!
