Father John Fahnestock, MSC, 76, was called to his eternal rest on Jan. 29 at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.
Born in Chicago and raised in Aurora, Ill., Fr. Fahnestock made his vows as a Missionary of the Sacred Heart on Sept. 13, 1965.
He was ordained to the priesthood in 1971 and came to the Diocese of San Bernardino in 1985, serving at St. Joseph, Upland; St. Joan of Arc, Victorville; and Holy Family, Hesperia before assisting in his retirement at St. Theresa, Palm Springs.
Funeral arrangements were not available at press time.
