Consider supporting diocesan seminarians while enjoying a classy night out by attending the Bishop’s Dinner on May 14. The annual charity dinner benefits the Diocesan Seminarian Fund and gives attendees a chance to meet diocesan seminarians and learn more about what goes into their formation.

The dinner is also the occasion where individuals are recognized with the Amar Es Entregarse Award. The award is given to those who exemplify Bishop Emeritus Gerald Barnes’ Episcopal Motto Amar Es Entregarse (Love is the total giving of oneself).

This year’s honorees are: Very Rev. Rafael Partida, Pastor of St. Patrick, Moreno Valley and Episcopal Vicar of the Riverside Pastoral Region; Very Rev. Romeo Selección, M.S., Pastor of St. Christopher, Moreno Valley and Episcopal Vicar of the San Bernardino Pastoral Region; Maria Echeverria, Vice Chancellor and Director of the Department of Apostolic and Ethnic Affairs; Ann Marie Gallant, Director of the Office of Emergency Operations Collaborative; and Virginia Turner, Senior Director of the Office of Human Resources.

The dinner will take place Saturday, May 14, and attendees can start checking in at 4:30 p.m., with a reception at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m. It will be held at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort in Palm Desert. Attire is black tie, and there will be complimentary valet parking.

An individual seat reservation costs $250, and there are also additional sponsorship opportunities ranging from $2,500 to $15,000.
