The Diocese held its annual Rite of Election on Feb. 26 at two parishes, Queen of Angels in Riverside (for the Riverside Region) and St. Frances Xavier Cabrini in Yucaipa (for the San Bernardino Region). The Rite of Election is a special rite for catechumens (those who have gone through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) program at their parishes) performed before the catechumens are admitted into the Church at the Easter Vigil liturgy. After celebrating the Rite of Election, they are now called “Elect,” as they have been elected by God to enter the Church. We continue to keep these Elect in our prayers and prepare to welcome them fully into the Church this Easter. Below, read the names of the catechumens separated by vicariates and parishes.
