The Diocesan Synod Synthesis was released on Sept. 30. You can watch Bishop Rojas' video message on the Synod Synthesis here, or read the full text of the synthesis here.

The Diocesan Synod Synthesis, a 15-page booklet written to capture the sharing of thousands of Catholics during the consultation phase of the Synod on Synodality, and chart a unified path forward for the local Church, was released on Sept. 30.

“To all of you who have shared your experiences and have expressed how you feel, I want to assure you that I have heard you,” Bishop Alberto Rojas said in a video message announcing the release of the document. “I invite you to consider this synthesis as a guide for a more profound consultation with our families, parishes, schools, pastoral center and communities. This synthesis will help us to see, discern and act today as we build a better future.”

Bishop Rojas presented the Synthesis document to the priests of the Diocese at the Priest’s Convocation on Sept. 30.

The synthesis document, which each diocese was required to submit to the Vatican and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, lists a series of pillars – hopes and desires expressed by those who engaged in Synod listening sessions and surveys. At the conclusion of each section of the Synthesis, questions are offered for reflection and response.
