Two diocesan schools and a parish were recognized in the 2022 Readers Choice Awards, a recognition bestowed by readers of the San Bernardino Sun and the Redlands Daily Facts newspapers.

The Readers Choice Awards occur annually and shines a spotlight on exceptional places, businesses, people and things to do in San Bernardino County.
Aquinas High School, San Bernardino, won Best Catholic School, Best Private High School and Best Tutoring, while Sacred Heart Academy, Redlands, was named Best Preschool and Best Private Elementary School. “The faculty, staff and I are so humbled to receive this recognition!” said Sacred Heart Principal Angela Williams. ”Sacred Heart Academy is proud to be one of the many excellent Catholic schools in the Diocese that provides a quality faith-based education to the future leaders of our church.”

Added Aquinas High School Director of Admissions/Marketing Nick Karavedas, “We’re blessed to be thought of so highly in the Inland Empire... All glory to God!”

The Holy Name of Jesus, Redlands, was named the Best Place to Worship. “We are once again blessed as a parish to receive the Reader’s Choice Award for Best Place to Worship,” said The Holy Name of Jesus pastor Father Erik Esparza, JCL. “We strive to be a welcoming parish offering many opportunities for our parishioners to grow in faith and to be of service to others. We are committed to the mission of the Church which is the salvation of souls and we will do so with the focus of our new theme for this upcoming pastoral year, Be Transformed.”
