 Becky Haney, a local seamstress, came and taught them how to sew and about the STEM she uses everyday as a seamstress. The sixth graders engineered their own patterns by applying math standards they have learned to design the hand warmers. They even got to heat seal their names onto them. Thank you to school parents Teddy and Drishanna Lloyd for donating the sewing machines and for coming to help. The students enjoyed the project so much they plan to make more handwarmers and donate them for a service project!
