Yumara has been involved in karate for about five years and demonstrates her abilities at St. James’ annual talent show. The competition grouping for the tournament in Mexico was based on height and because Yumara is tall for her age she found herself competing against kids much older than herself. Her oldest opponent was 17 years old. She competed against boys and girls and sparred against boys only. In Sparring she was required to defeat three opponents and in Form she also had to compete against three opponents.

Yumara will next compete in another tournament in New York over the holidays for The Championship Title. We wish Yumara and her family a safe trip and the best of luck in her next challenge.
