On Jan. 28, seven Catholic schools in the Diocese came together to hold a Spelling Bee for their students. The schools that participated were St. James School in Perris, St. Adelaide Academy in Highland, St. Thomas the Apostle School in Riverside, St. Francis de Sales School in Riverside, St. Edward School in Corona, Sacred Heart School in Palm Desert and Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Riverside, the latter of which hosted the event. The Spelling Bee went over two hours and over 30 rounds.

The first place winner was St. Edward’s seventh grader Merian Saba, the second place winner was St. Edward’s sixth grader Gabriella Cornelio and the third place winner was Sacred Heart fourth grader Nicholas Criscione. Congratulations to the winners!
