The large and destructive Fairview Fire, located near Hemet, prompted several Catholic schools in the area to cancel classes on Sept. 9 because of evacuation orders that impacted school families and staff. St. Hyacinth Academy in San Jacinto, St. James School in Perris and St. Jeanne de Lestonnac School in Temecula were the schools affected.
“Please continue to pray for our families, friends and staff members who have been impacted by the fires and have had to evacuate their homes. Please pray for the firefighters keeping us safe and for the much needed rain!” St. Jeanne de Lestonnac wrote in their Facebook post announcing the closure.
