The Notre Dame cheerleaders start their season in early summer and have a year long bonding experience as they cheer for sports, serve their community, and compete in competitions. Head Coach, and teacher on campus, RaeAnna Ashton has been leading this squad for three years to receive various accomplishments and awards. As football season is winding down, the cheerleaders begin their start of competitions and the pressure is on this year to come out on top. This is the first year the JV cheer squad is competing and they have an excellent coach, Ashley Magill, who has been transforming young adults into amazing athletes.

The start of the 2012-2013 competition season began in December as the girls competed in El Monte and received the Most Spirited Award. With a regional Ontario competition in January and their final performance at Knott’s Berry Farm for State Championships in February, the NDHS community is standing behind their cheerleaders and giving them their spirit.

“The cheerleaders have so much passion for supporting others and they are so blessed to have administration, faculty, family, friends and the entire Notre Dame community believe they can do so much ,” said Coach Ashton. “I am very proud of the wonderful young ladies I have had the pleasure of mentoring these past few years. They are so driven and I only wish the best for them as they compete this year.”

Notre Dame wishes the girls all the best and look to Our Lady, Queen of Victory, to pray for us!
