Bryan Lang
On March 28, Bryan Lang, beloved middle school teacher at Holy Rosary Academy in San Bernardino, was called home to God. “Mr. Lang was a dedicated educator, a compassionate mentor, and a cherished member of our school family,” said Holy Rosary Principal Shelley Renison. “His presence in our classrooms and hallways brought wisdom, kindness, and faith to all who knew him.” An alumnus of Holy Rosary Academy, himself, Lang taught at the school for 13 years and further advanced his education in 2018 when he earned a master’s degree in Education from Grand Canyon University. In 2020, the Diocesan Office of Catholic Schools honored Lang with a “Distinguished Teacher” award. Let us keep Mr. Lang, his family and Holy Rosary Academy community in our prayers.
Dianna Bocanegra
Mrs. Dianna Bocanegra, the beloved fifth-grade teacher at Sacred Heart Parish School in Rancho Cucamonga, passed away on April 10 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Interstate 10 near Cabazon. Dianna began her career at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School where she spent nine years as the school’s fifth-grade teacher. There, she met her long-time companion, Damian Reyes, who was also a teacher at the school. In 2022, Dianna accepted her recent position at Sacred Heart Parish School teaching 5th grade. Her colleagues describe her as hardworking, compassionate and dedicated to her students. Her current and former students describe her as kind, patient, gentle and fair. Outside of work, Dianna enjoyed watching Dodger and Laker games, trying new restaurants, going to the gym, weekend getaways, and spending time with loved ones. Please keep Mrs. Bocanegra’s family, Sacred Heart Principal Enrique Landin, the students, and the entire school community in your prayers. A mass to honor Dianna was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rancho Cucamonga on April 28 followed by a reception at Our Lady of Lourdes in Montclair.
