National Grandparents’ Day, which fell on Sept. 7 this year, is a day to honor and celebrate grandparents and their vital role in families and society. Catholic schools in the diocese held special celebrations for Grandparents’ Day. On Sept. 5 Riverside Notre Dame High School celebrated the students’ grandparents with a beautiful Mass at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, followed by a luncheon on campus. “It was wonderful to see our students and their grandparents come together to make these special memories. We are so grateful for the love and support our grandparents give each day, you are truly a blessing to our Titan community,” reads a post on the school’s Facebook page. Holy Rosary Academy and Preschool, San Bernardino, observed Grandparents’ Day on Sept. 11 with students and grandparents sharing stories and enjoying a reception. Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, Riverside, celebrated its first Grandparents’ Day with a special Mass, reception, and grandparents were welcomed inside classrooms to participate in activities with their students.
