Catholic schools honor Patriot Day and victims of Sept. 11

This year in honor of Patriot Day several Catholic schools in the diocese took time to remember the victims and first responders from the attacks of September 11, 2001. St. Edward School, Corona, celebrated a Mass in commemoration of Patriot Day and had a special blessing over the school’s first responders. In addition, the school thanked community first responders by writing and presenting them student letters. St. Theresa School in Palm Springs held a flag service outside in its courtyard, while students dawned red, white and blue clothing and crafted hats that read “Never Forget 9/11.”  In remembrance of 9/11 Notre Dame High School’s Peer Ministry led a morning Rosary before the start of school on Sept. 11.
