“They were just over the moon,” said St. Hyacinth Principal Tami Jimenez, who credited the support of the school and parish community and stability in faculty coaches as primary factors in the team’s success. “The kids really see it as something that’s cool to do because everybody is recognizing their efforts.”
The Eagles’ victory earned them a berth in the State Academic Decathlon for Catholic Schools held on April 5 at Aquinas High School.
