Father Charles Patron called to eternal rest

We pray for the eternal rest of Father Charles Patron, beloved priest of the diocese for 63 years. He was called home to God on March 14 in Houston, Texas at the age of 94 surrounded by his loving family. Fr. Patron ministered in numerous parishes over more than six decades of priestly service in the Diocese of San Bernardino. He served as pastor of St. Joseph, Barstow; St. Phillip Neri, Lenwood; St. Madeline Sophie Borat, Trona; St. Catherine of Alexandria, Temecula; and Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Riverside. Fr. Patron was born on August 21, 1931, and ordained to the priesthood on March 17, 1962. The Viewing and Vigil will be held on April 6 from 5-7 PM at Cortner Chapel in Redlands. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on April 7 at 10 AM at St. Joseph parish in Upland. Christian Burial will take place on April 8 at 10:30 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery in San Diego.  “Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.”
