These classes were provided for all members of the Diocese. These classes have continued in a manner that makes for clear understanding of our role in the Church.
In addition, his love for his flock has been manifested in his work with the various segments of our Diocese. His continual prayer and support of the inmates in our prisons has been demonstrated yearly through his prison visits for the celebration of Mass and bestowal of the sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confirmation when needed. Also, his care and support of our children in Catholic schools has been observed by many during the Bishop’s parish visitations. I have been privileged to observe both of these ministries through my work with the Master of Ceremonies program.
I have also been fortunate enough to accompany the Bishop in observance of special services conducted with our immigrant population in the eastern end of the Coachella Valley. The love showered upon our Bishop by the Purepecha Indian population has been manifested in several liturgical celebrations. In other areas of our Diocese, we have observed participation by Asian, American Indian, Samoan and Black communities. Our Bishop has truly been all things to his flock in the San Bernardino Diocese.
Pray for our Bishop: Acts 20-28. “Keep watch over yourselves and over all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you oversee to shepherd the Church of God that he obtained with the blood of his own Son.”
