 As Ash Wednesday and the beginning of the Lenten season approaches, parishes are finalizing plans and preparing for the busy 40 days of parish missions, workshops, prayer groups, reconciliation services and more.

ONTARIO—The Filipino Ministry at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Ontario celebrated its 20th anniversary of holding a Santo Niño Celebration Jan. 12. Sharing the Filipino devotion of the Holy Child of Jesus with parishes in the West End Vicariate and beyond, the celebration included a candlelight procession with the image, Mass celebrated by Father Romeo Seleccion, MS, Episcopal Vicar of the San Bernardino pastoral region and a reception.

SAN BERNARDINO—Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the pastoral letter “Strangers No Longer: Together on a Journey of Hope” by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), Auxiliary Bishop Rutilio del Riego celebrated the Seventh Annual National Migration Week Mass on Jan. 20 at Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral in San Bernardino.
