SAN BERNARDINO—There are many brilliant students who face economic barriers in the City of San Bernardino. 

 Yet research shows that students who come from low income families are seven times more likely to drop out of high school. Factors such as high mobility and homelessness, hunger and food insecurity, absent parents, or the need to help the family financially contribute to lower graduation rates in impoverished communities.

World Youth Day in Poland offers diocesan youth and young adults a global view of faith

SAN BERNARDINO—For two weeks in July, over 100 youth and young adults from the Diocese of San Bernardino had a life-changing experience. 

 World Youth Day is taking place in Krakow, Poland from July 25-31.The trip also included time in both Rome and Warsaw, Poland, where pilgrims explored Catholic sites. Preparing for the journey was no easy task, as many activities and experiences were packed into those 14 days.

SILVER ANNIVESARY Very Rev. Msgr. Gerard M. Lopez, S.T.L., V.G., celebrated the 25th Anniversary of his ordination as a priest with a Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Riverside on June 26. Accompanied by his parents, Msgr. Lopez received a special blessing from Bishop Gerald Barnes.
