SAN BERNARDINO—Holy Rosary Academy’s Summer Full Immersion Program is a great opportunity for third graders to practice third grade skills in Spanish. Students have had fun reading, writing and practicing math in Spanish. They have experienced walks, cooking lessons and Spanish movie time in addition to their academic lessons.

Notre Dame High School seniors

RIVERSIDE—On April 25 tragedy struck the Notre Dame High School community. 

 David Rivas, Jr. was taken from his family and friends in a devastating car crash. There was also a passenger in the car named Jorge Talavera. They were childhood friends. Rivas was killed on impact and Talavera sustained serious injuries, but survived. 

PERRIS—At St. James Catholic School fifth graders are enthusiastic about exploring the work of various artists such as Andy Warhol, Georgia O’Keefe, Edward Hopper, and Victor Vasarely, often using different media to create assemblages, prints, and paintings.

RIVERSIDE—And the winner is…… 

 At St. Catherine of Alexandria School in Riverside all middle school science students become winners. 

 St. Margaret Mary School Principal Joan Blank has been a mainstay in serving as a voice of the West End cluster of Catholic schools for over 20 years. 

 St. Peter and St. Paul School Principal Patty Ferrer was an institution at the school, and that was before it expanded from a pre-school to a K-5 school.

 Both will be retiring after decades at the helm of the Chino and Alta Loma campuses.

SAN BERNARDINO—The Catholic schools in the City of San Bernardino, in partnership with a local public school, Bradley Elementary, have received funds to serve neighborhood children through an innovative grant.
