Music Day Event draws more than 300 to the Pastoral Center

SAN BERNARDINO—One of the most well attended workshops at the Diocesan Pastoral Center throughout the year is the annual Music Day Event. This year was no exception. Held on Saturday, July 27, Music Day brought music ministers and liturgists from parishes all over the Diocese, totaling more than 320 people.

The workshop was presented by Bob Hurd, Mauricio Centeno, Chris Estrella, Guillermo Delgado, Kathleen Estrella and Efrain Arellano. The theme of this year’s Music Day was “Always Forward in Song – Siempre Adelante, con Canción.”

The event in recent years has included fundraising for the St. Cecelia Music Fund, which typically benefits parishes in need instruments or equipment for music ministry. This year, proceeds from the fundraiser went to the George and Aurora Barnes Endowment Fund, established in 2017 to benefit the Diocesan Seminarian Program, and named in honor of Bishop Barnes’ parents.
