Bishop Alberto Rojas celebrated a Mass with the Korean Catholic community of the Diocese on May 1 to mark the 200th Anniversary of St. Andrew Kim’s birth and kick off a Jubilee Year in his honor. The outdoor Mass was held on a warm afternoon at St. Andrew Kim Parish in Riverside. It was a joyful occasion for local Korean Catholics who also saw Bishop Rojas bless a hall of Korean Catholic artwork and a new Way of the Cross on parish grounds.

“We invoke his intercession for us to be courageous as Catholics in our time,” Bishop Rojas said of St. Andrew Kim, who was martyred for his faith.
