Approximately 40 representatives from the Asian and Pacific Islander (API) Ministry of the diocese joined in the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) West Coast Consultation: New Seasons, New Grounds, held Feb. 5–7 at the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland, CA. The gathering brought together ministry leaders and delegates from the archdioceses of Los Angeles and San Francisco, and the dioceses of Sacramento, Stockton, San Bernardino, San Diego, Oakland, and San Jose. Participants engaged in presentations, and collaborative discussions focused on strengthening ministry, leadership formation, and intercultural accompaniment within API communities, especially with young adults. The presence of participants from a wide range of Asian and Pacific Islander cultural traditions, reflected in language, heritage, and expressions of faith, contributed to a deeply meaningful exchange and affirmed the vital role of API Catholics in the life and mission of the Church.
