The Diocese will be ordaining seven men to the priesthood this May, the largest class in the history of the Diocese.

The men to be ordained will be Deacon Richard Ahumada, Deacon Carlos Flores, Deacon Rafael Flores, Deacon Jonathan Garcia, Deacon Julian Plascencia, Deacon Maurice Quindoy and Deacon Bryant Rivas. They will be ordained on May 20 at St. Paul the Apostle, Chino Hills, at 10 a.m.

“I am filled with joy and excitement about this year having the largest ordination class. It is a beautiful sign that God continues to bless our Diocese with laborers for his harvest,” said Father Hau Vu, Vocations Director for the Diocese.  “It also means that the prayers of God’s people to send more laborers for his harvest are being heard.”

“I am thankful that these seven men have the faith and courage to answer ‘Yes’ to God’s call. Their ‘Yes’ will change the lives of so many people and I pray that they never forget the reason why they said ‘Yes’ in the first place,” he added.

Fr. Vu encourages the faithful to continue to pray for more vocations to the priesthood and religious life, and to pray for the sanctity of these seven men as they prepare for their ordination and then begin their ministry as priests.

Last year, four were ordained priests for the Diocese, while there was one in 2021 and one in 2020.
