SAN BERNARDINO—When Pope Francis declared an Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy in June of 2015 he decreed that it would begin on the first Sunday of Advent, November 29, 2015, and conclude the following year on the Feast of Christ the King, November 20, 2016.

TUCSON, AZ—Recently the Knights and Ladies of The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem from the Diocese of San Bernardino convened in Tucson, Arizona for their annual meeting. 

 For many years, the Diocesan Ministry to Families of Gay & Lesbian Catholics (MFGLC) has regularly visited parishes throughout our Diocese to minister to the many Catholics who have a loved one, often a child, who identifies as gay or lesbian.

 Don Nelson had always been a staunch supporter of the death penalty, even after marrying his wife, Patty, made him a convert to the Catholic faith.

 “You’d hear that Texas had executed another one and you’d say, ‘good, that one less person that could go out and murder someone,’ ” Don says.
