The Holy War Games, an expanded event of friendly athletic competitions between our two diocesan Catholic high schools, San Bernardino Aquinas and Riverside Notre Dame, was held Sept. 20 and resulted in over 5,000 pounds of donated food that will help feed over 1,000 families. The winner of the canned food competition was Notre Dame, donating 3,600 pounds and Aquinas donating 1,600 pounds. The day was filled with faith, games, giveaways and competition, with seven events taking place. Aquinas won the annual football game between the two schools by a score of 69-6. In other sports, Aquinas Varsity Girls Volleyball took the win, Notre Dame Junior Varsity Girls Volleyball won, and Aquinas Freshman Girls Volleyball earned the win. Notre Dame won the Girls Tennis competition and Aquinas took victory in Boys and Girls Cross Country. At 4 PM, students of both schools gathered to celebrate Mass together.
