In August of next year, Bishop Alberto Rojas, along with his brother bishops of California, Nevada and Hawaii, will meet with Pope Leo XIV for the Ad Limina Apostolorum Visit (To the Thresholds of the Apostles). At the heart of the visit is the pilgrimage to the tombs of Saints Peter and Paul, the Apostles who gave witness to Christ and are honored as pastors and pillars of the Church of Rome. It also provides an opportunity for the pope to welcome the bishops, to listen to their experiences and concerns, and to engage in dialogue about the joys, challenges, and hopes of the local Churches they serve. In turn the bishops have the opportunity to share their wisdom, experiences, and pastoral realities of their local communities. As Bishop Rojas prepares for his visit, he asks the faithful community to join him in praying the Ad Limina Apostolorum prayer (at right).
