The Sisters from the Order of the Company of Mary Our Lady (ODN) in May celebrated the special milestone of serving for 100 years in the United States. A majority of the ODN sisters who minister in the diocese serve in leadership roles at St. Jeanne de Lestonnac School in Temecula. On May 14, the school hosted a Fiesta to Remember, an evening filled with live mariachis, tacos, dancing, with past families, current families, community supporters, and friends to honor a century of faith, education, and service. At the fiesta, the ODN sisters also shared the inspiring story of how their order first came to the U.S. On May 15, Bishop Alberto Rojas, who received his early education from ODN sisters, presided over a special Mass at the Temecula school, celebrating 100 years of gratitude. In addition to the Mass, Bishop Rojas bestowed the prestigious Amar Es Entregarse Award, named after Bishop Emeritus Gerald Barnes’ episcopal motto, “Love is the total giving of oneself,” to the ODN sisters to recognize their dedication to self-giving service.
