MECCA—Humility and faith went hand in hand as the faith community of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mecca celebrated the Feast Day of their patroness on Dec. 12.
The Purepecha, indigenous people from Michoacán, Mexico, joined in the celebration by honoring “La Morenita” through a pilgrimage during which they danced typical rituals in their native dress.

As the Jubilee Year of Mercy drew to a close, its spirit continues to resonate with many, especially when it comes to serving the poor.
In response to the great need for God’s mercy and strength that exists both locally and around the world, the Diocese of San Bernardino supports projects to aid the poor and disenfranchised through two different Sacrificial Giving Grant programs.
MODESTO—A group of people from the Diocese of San Bernardino with experience in grassroots community organizing and serving those in need will travel to Modesto in February to join with those from various cultures and communities from across the world.
