Since Vatican II, many lay men and women have been called to the ministry of Spiritual Direction, due to the emphasis on the call of the laity. All lay persons are called to holiness, to evangelize, and to proclaim the Gospel, which has increased the need for spiritual direction for the laity.

SAN BERNARDINO—The 150 people who attended the Life, Dignity and Justice Conference at the Diocesan Pastoral Center on September 28 were treated to talks and workshops about everything from the upcoming presidential election to immigration to human trafficking to the death penalty to hate crime trends.
