Each student donates a minimum of $25 and wears pink show a unified front in the fight against cancer.  All proceeds raised from Paint El Paseo Pink will benefit Desert Cancer Foundation-Suzanne Jackson Breast Cancer Fund for Coachella Valley residents in need of necessary services.

The Relay for Life in Palm Desert is one of the largest events of the year. Sacred Heart students K-8 decorate over 600 luminaries that line a track where survivors and their families and friends walk for over 24 hours to honor and support those affected by cancer. Students’ luminaries are weighted down by a donation of about 900 canned goods which will be donated to a local pantry for homeless and elderly following the event. In addition, the Junior High students walk beside the participants in the morning and hand out handmade cards to the survivors during the emotional “Survivor Lap.” In 2013, Sacred Heart’s teams were 68 people strong. We are honored to annually share in these events and bring awareness to the battle so many people face.
