Father Antonio Abuan, 65, of the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette, was called to his eternal rest on October 3.
Born in the Philippines on Nov. 13, 1954, Fr. Abuan professed his religious vows as a La Salette missionary on June 16, 1981 and was ordained a priest on May 16, 1984.
Fr. Abuan came to the Diocese of San Bernardino in 2000 serving as Pastor of Our Lady of the Desert Parish, Apple Valley and St. Christopher Parish, Moreno Valley.
In 2007, he returned to the Philippines where he was assigned to Santo Niño de Congreso Parish, Novaliches, Quezon City. In 2014, he served at Holy Cross Parish in Kalaheo, on the island of Kauai, Hawaii until his return to St. Christopher, Moreno Valley in 2018.
A Mass of Resurrection was held on October 15 at St. Christopher.
