On April 5, Sacred Heart Parish in Rancho Cucamonga, in addition to celebrating the Lord’s Resurrection on Easter, marked two great milestones. The parish celebrated its 73rd founding anniversary, and pastor Father Cristobal S. Subosa celebrated his 25th priesthood ordination anniversary. The Mass was presided by Bishop Alberto Rojas and concelebrated by Fr. Subosa and other priests.
“I’d like to give thanks to God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and the Blessed Mother for the gift of vocation to the priesthood,” Fr. Subosa said. “I came here, my first time to Sacred Heart in 2006, I was only a priest for five years, and now we are all 20 years older, including myself. I spent three years here and nine years at St. Anthony in San Jacinto and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton for six years.”
Following the Mass, Bishop Rojas blessed the parish’s recently remodeled chapel. After the chapel blessing, the parish community and clergy enjoyed a beautiful reception that included a special anniversary cake for Fr. Subosa.
“Thank you Father Cris for the invitation to be a part of this beautiful moment,” Bishop Rojas said.
