In Palm Springs there is a signature 11-day festival offered every February called Modernism Week, which highlights midcentury and modern architecture, art, interior design, landscape design, and vintage culture from the Palm Springs area. This year, projects from students at St. Theresa School in Palm Springs were not only proudly displayed during Modernism Week but were featured on KMIR NBC Palm Springs. The station reported that “as part of a long-running sixth-grade project, students designed and built detailed housing models that embody the essence of Palm Springs modernism.” St. Theresa School’s Modernism Projects were made possible by a partnership with Palm Springs Modern Committee’s Education Committee. This non-profit organization conducts in-class instruction and workshops. Photo credit: NBC Palm Springs.
