For the fourth year in a row St. Margaret Mary School in Chino took first place in the Junior High Academic Decathlon, held this year on March 7 at Aquinas High School. Catholic school students in grades 6-8 went head-to-head in the annual, one-day competition with eight different schools participating through a total of 14 teams. St. Margaret Mary’s Red Team was the overall winner, taking second place overall was Sacred Heart School, Palm Desert, and taking third place was St. Edward School, Corona. During the decathlon, students participate in team and individual competition of rigorous thinking problems, Roman Catholic doctrine, Literature, Science, Mathematics, Currents Events, Social Studies and more. Congratulations to all of the decathletes! St. Margaret Mary and Sacred Heart participated in the National Decathlon competition, held virtually, on March 20.
