More than 700 sixth, seventh and eighth grade students from Catholic schools in the diocese gathered at Sacred Heart parish on March 20 for Middle School Day 2026. The special day of prayer, fellowship, and faith was a collaborative offering from the Office of Catholic Schools and the Vocations Office. The day began with a keynote speech entitled, “Our call to love and to be loved,” given by Father Hau Vu, Vocations Director. Then students entered into breakout sessions. The boys breakout session was presented by Tony Pimentel, Coordinator of Catechetical and Youth Ministry at St. Oscar Romero parish, Eastvale, and the girls breakout session was presented by Avenilde Sahagun Gonzalez, Religious Education Coordinator at St. Edward parish, Corona. Students reflected on the love of Jesus Christ and how His friendship guides their lives. After lunch, games and discernment group gatherings, Bishop Alberto Rojas celebrated Mass with the students to close the day.
