Totally Mt. Rubidoux, supported by diocese, vows to preserve the cross for public access
RIVERSIDE—Public concerns about the potential removal of the landmark Serra Cross in Riverside were finally allayed on April 11 when a specially formed community group bought the property from the City of Riverside in a public bid.
Totally Mt. Rubidoux paid $10,500 for the property, about $500 more than the minimum bid set by the City. Another group filed paperwork to participate in the bid and attended but did not actually make a bid.
